The weather conditions for today’s competition has been nothing short of amazing. The skiing conditions on Vikafjellet have been good according to the contestants and the same goes for the downhill bicycling in Afdal. Knut Henrik Lajord says that the layout of the trail has been great this year. The river was a bit low, but according to participants, this did not have a negative effect on the kayaking. The energy at Afdal was definitely at a peak with many people standing at the crossing area to cheer.
Marcio Franco and Joar Wæhle, who placed first and second last year did not make it to the top this year. Unluckily both their bicycles punctured on the way down. This year’s first place for men and women teams were Team Alpin Glow and Team Foxy Ladies. First place for Individual men and women went to Eirik Øvreeide and Kamilla Sporsheim.
This year’s individual women winner, Kamilla Sporsheim says that she was slightly tense about the bicycling part, but it went fine. She also stated that the river conditions had been great. Sporsheim won the first place last year as well, and is happy about today’s result, especially since this is only the second time she is competing in Hordi Ned. She is eager to motivate more girls to take part in the competition and underlines the fact that you do not have to be a professional to participate. Kamilla says that it has been an increase in the number of girls in the competition from last year, and that she hopes that this development will continue in the future. “For the simple reason that this is Veko’s most exciting event!”
