Head of Veko Diner / Cafe

Location: Voss, Norway & digital
Duration: Project-based position (before and during Ekstremsportveko)
 

The Head of Veko Diner / Café is responsible for planning, operating, and delivering all café and food service offerings during Ekstremsportveko. The role does not include bar or alcohol service, which is handled by a separate Head of Bar. This position is central to ensuring high-quality food, efficient operations, and a positive experience for participants, volunteers, and the audience.


Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Café and Food Operations

- Overall responsibility for daily operations of the Veko Diner and all café-based food service points during Ekstremsportveko.

- Plan menus, service setups, and logistics related to food and non-alcoholic beverages.

- Ensure consistent, high-quality food offerings throughout the festival.


Suppliers and Logistics

- Work closely with suppliers to ensure reliable delivery of ingredients and products.

- Manage orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.

- Ensure efficient stock management and minimize food waste.


Staffing and Training

- Recruit, organize, and supervise staff and volunteers working with the Veko Diner / Café.

- Ensure proper training in routines, customer service, hygiene, and safety.

- Create staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage throughout the festival.


Hygiene, Safety, and Compliance

- Ensure all food service operations comply with applicable hygiene standards and food safety regulations.

- Conduct regular checks to maintain safe, clean, and professional service areas.


On-Site Oversight and Problem Solving

- Be present during the festival to handle operational, logistical, or staffing challenges.

- Resolve issues quickly and effectively to ensure smooth café and food service operations.


We Expect

- Experience from café, kitchen, or food service operations, preferably in high-paced or event-based environments.

- Strong leadership skills and ability to organize and motivate teams.

- Solid understanding of food hygiene, safety, and regulatory requirements.

- Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

- Structured, solution-oriented, and comfortable with responsibility.


Working Hours and Duration

The role requires high availability before and during Ekstremsportveko. Physical presence in Voss is required to ensure safe and smooth operation of the Veko Diner / Café.
