Head of Safety - Multisport

Location: Voss, Norway & Online
Duration: Project-based position (before and during Ekstremsportveko)

The Head of Safety for Multisport plays a critical role in ensuring that all multisport competitions and activities are delivered in a safe, controlled, and professional manner. The role requires a responsible, decisive individual with a strong focus on safety, risk management, and event operations.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Safety Procedures and Compliance

- Ensure that all safety procedures, guidelines, and regulations are followed during multisport competitions and activities.

- Conduct risk assessments and identify measures to reduce or mitigate potential risks associated with multisport events.
 

Equipment and Emergency Preparedness

- Ensure that all required safety and emergency equipment is in place and complies with relevant standards.

- Plan and organize emergency preparedness and response procedures in collaboration with volunteers and the central safety team.
 

Coordination and Collaboration

- Work closely with volunteers, athletes, and head of multisport to ensure safe execution of all multisport activities.

- Coordinate with the overall festival safety team to ensure the safety of participants, staff, and spectators.
 

Monitoring and Incident Management

- Actively monitor activities during the event to identify, prevent, and manage safety-related challenges.

- Be present and available for rapid response in the event of incidents or emergencies.
 

Training and Safety Briefings

- Ensure that volunteers and other personnel involved in multisport activities receive adequate training in safety procedures.

- Conduct safety briefings for teams prior to competitions and activities.

 

We Expect

Experience in Safety Management

- Previous experience with safety work within sports events, festivals, or similar activities.
 

Knowledge of Procedures

- Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response relevant to multisport environments.
 

Coordination and Communication

- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and ensure clear, consistent communication.
 

Flexibility and Problem-Solving

- Able to adapt quickly to changing conditions and handle unforeseen situations in a calm and solution-oriented manner.
 

Organization and Attention to Detail

- Structured, detail-oriented approach to planning, documentation, and follow-up of safety-related tasks.

 

Working Hours and Duration

The position requires flexibility and high availability in the period before, during, and after Ekstremsportveko. Physical presence in Voss during is required to ensure safe and efficient execution of multisport activities.
