Head of Safety - Vossakrigar

Location: Voss, Norway
Duration: Project-based position (before and during Ekstremsportveko)

The Head of Safety – Vossakrigar plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Vossakrigar competition is carried out in a safe, controlled, and responsible manner. The role requires a present, structured, and solution-oriented individual with a strong focus on safety during competition execution.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Safety Procedures and Risk Management

- Ensure that all safety procedures and guidelines are followed during the Vossakrigar competition.

- Participate in risk assessments related to obstacles, course layout, and competition flow, and help implement mitigating measures.

Equipment and Emergency Preparedness

- Ensure that required safety and emergency equipment is in place and ready for use.

- Help organize emergency preparedness and response procedures in cooperation with volunteers and the central safety team.

Coordination and Collaboration

- Work closely with the Head of Vossakrigar to ensure safe execution of the competition.

- Coordinate with the festival’s central safety organization to ensure participant and spectator safety.

Monitoring and Incident Handling

- Actively monitor the competition to identify and address safety-related challenges.

- Be present and available for rapid response in case of incidents, injuries, or near-misses.

Training and Safety Briefings

- Ensure that volunteers and relevant personnel are familiar with safety routines and emergency procedures.

- Conduct safety briefings prior to competition start and key activity phases.

Flexibility and Availability

- Flexible availability before and during the event, with willingness to be present when needed.

Working Hours and Duration

The role requires high availability before and during Ekstremsportveko. Physical presence in Voss is required to ensure safe and effective handling of safety-related tasks during the competition.
