Head of Vossakrigar

Location: Voss, Norway & Online
Duration: Project-based position (before and during Ekstremsportveko)

The Head of Vossakrigar is a key role responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the Vossakrigar competition at Ekstremsportveko in a safe, professional, and engaging manner. The role requires a structured and committed individual with a strong interest in obstacle racing, functional fitness, or multisport-style competitions, as well as event delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Coordination of Vossakrigar Activities

- Overall responsibility for planning and execution of the Vossakrigar competition.

- Develop detailed schedules, course setups, and competition formats in line with defined rules and guidelines.

- Ensure smooth coordination between obstacles, competition flow, logistics, and supporting functions.

Collaboration with Athletes and Volunteers

- Work closely with athletes to ensure they receive all necessary information related to rules, schedules, and equipment.

- Recruit, organize, and follow up volunteers involved in course building, competition execution, and logistics.

Safety and Quality Assurance

- Ensure that the Vossakrigar competition is delivered in accordance with relevant safety standards and internal guidelines.

- Monitor the competition and identify operational or safety-related challenges that require action.

Cooperation with the Safety Team

- Work closely with the Vossakrigar safety lead and the central festival safety team.

- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the implementation of necessary safety measures.

Participant and Audience Experience

- Actively work to ensure a positive and memorable experience for both participants and spectators.

- Contribute to strengthening the festival’s profile through high-quality execution of the Vossakrigar competition.

We Expect

Experience in Sport

- Practical experience or solid knowledge of obstacle racing, functional fitness, multisport, or similar disciplines.

Coordination and Responsibility

- Ability to plan, coordinate, and take responsibility for the execution of competitions and activities.

Safety Awareness

- Basic understanding of safety in sports and event contexts, and willingness to follow established routines and systems.

Communication and Collaboration

- Ability to collaborate effectively with athletes, volunteers, safety personnel, and other stakeholders.

Structure and Flexibility

- Well-organized and solution-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changes as they occur.

Working Hours and Duration

The position requires a high degree of flexibility, with increased workload in the period before and during Ekstremsportveko. Physical presence in Voss is required to ensure safe and efficient execution of the Vossakrigar competition.
