Position Title: Head of Paragliding
Reports to:  Air Sports Coordinator
Department: Sports Department
Location: Voss, Norway
Duration: Project-based position (before, during, and after Ekstremsportveko)

The Head of Paragliding is a key role in ensuring that the discipline is delivered in a safe, professional, and engaging way during Ekstremsportveko. This position requires an experienced and structured individual with a strong passion for paragliding and event management.

 

Main Responsibilities

Discipline coordination:

  • Plan and execute all paragliding events and competitions.

  • Develop detailed schedules and setups in accordance with current rules and regulations.

Athlete and volunteer collaboration:

  • Work closely with athletes to ensure they have the necessary information and resources.

  • Organize and follow up with volunteers involved in running the competitions.

Safety and quality assurance:

  • Ensure that the paragliding program follows relevant safety standards and regulations.

  • Monitor the execution of events and address potential challenges.

Collaboration with the safety team:

  • Coordinate with the safety team to ensure all activities are carried out safely.

  • Participate in risk assessments and implement measures to manage potential safety challenges.

Experience for participants and audience:

  • Ensure a positive and memorable experience for both athletes and spectators.

  • Contribute to strengthening the festival’s profile by maintaining a high standard of competition quality.

 

Qualifications and Expectations

  • Paragliding expertise: Practical experience or extensive knowledge of paragliding, including competition formats and regulations.

  • Coordination and leadership: Experience in organizing events and leading teams, preferably within sports or festivals.

  • Safety focus: Understanding of safety standards and procedures related to sporting events.

  • Communication and teamwork: Ability to work effectively with athletes, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

  • Structure and flexibility: Accurate in planning and execution, with the ability to adapt to rapid changes.

Workload and Duration

The position requires flexibility, with peak activity before, during, and after the festival. On-site presence in Voss is necessary to ensure safe and effective execution of competitions.
