Description of the event/competition concept
The competition is an individual time trial sprint down a steep technical section of whitewater. With our beautiful and mighty rivers here in Voss, we are sure to have an event to remember.
Race Format:
There will be 2 qualifying runs and the best time counts. 8 Women and 15 Open will qualify for the final with the fastest Open & Women being crowned champions and hold gloating rights for the year.
Location:
Location of the race will be decided nearer the time based on the water levels. A mandatory briefing will be done the day before the event at a location TBA. Bibs will also be distributed at this occasion.

Mass-produced creek boat or modern half-slice creeker with airbags.

Made of PE, HTP plastic

A large cockpit that the paddler can escape from easily

Must be fitted with a full plate footrest or similar

With a minimum of two attachment points in the front (in front of the paddler) and a minimum of two attachment points at the rear (behind the paddler), or alternatively one attachment point in the front and three attachment points in the back, that are strong enough to rescue a pinned kayak (at least 500 kg)

No construction changes may impact the safety standards or structural integrity of the kayak.

Handles, seat, full plate footrests and pillars may not be removed.

Home made outfitting in composite materials are not allowed for safety reason, unless installed or available for sale and approved by the kayak manufacturer. Seats must not break after a strong impact on the bottom of the kayak.

White water Helmet (EN 1385) In good condition

Whitewater buoyancy aid (with safety harness and quick release belt)

Sufficient protection against cold water (long-sleeved dry top or dry suit is mandatory)

Mass-produced Paddle

Throw bag (not mandatory for the race but recommended for training Laps)

Locations will be decided closer to the race, according to the water levels.
