One focuses on precision and control, the other on speed and style.

Both competitions take place at the same time, and pilots may only compete in one of them.

Swooping Competition

Get ready for one of the most intense competitions during Ekstremsportveko.

The Swooping Competition is all about speed, precision and style. Pilots approach the landing zone at high speed and attempt to land as spectacularly as possible on the floating raft on the lake.

Expect aggressive turns, water drags and high speed landings as pilots push their control and timing to the limit in front of the crowd.

This is one of the most spectacular flying competitions during the festival.

Swooping and Precision Landing take place at the same time. Pilots may only compete in one of the two competitions.

Precision Landing Competition

Do you have what it takes to land with perfect precision during Ekstremsportveko?

The Precision Landing Competition challenges pilots to land as accurately as possible on the floating raft on Vangsvatnet. Timing, control and smooth flying are key as pilots aim to touch down exactly on the landing target.

While the swoopers chase speed and power, this competition is all about precision, control and perfect timing.

Precision Landing and Swooping take place at the same time. Pilots may only compete in one of the two competitions.

Swooping Competition

Norwegian pilots

Minimum licence SPG4

Foreign pilots

Valid speedflying or paragliding licence
Valid third party insurance
Experience with foot launching
Approval from Head of Safety

Precision Landing Competition

Minimum licence SPG2 + foot launch course

Administrative requirements

- Athletes must have completed all the following steps to participate:
- Valid Extreme Pass or Volunteer pass.
- Completed Athlete Registration. Not done that already? Do it here!
- Registered for this event (registration link at the top of the page).

Gondola information

Several events during Ekstremsportveko use the Voss Gondola for transport to the mountain.

Please note that gondola tickets are not included.
