Climb & Fly Lønahorgi

Climb up. Fly down.

Climb and Fly Lønahorgi is a unique adventure during Ekstremsportveko that combines traditional climbing and paragliding in the mountains above Voss.

Participants will climb a traditional route on Lønahorgi before launching their paraglider and flying back down to the valley.

This is a demanding mountain mission designed for experienced climbers and pilots who want to combine two disciplines in one unforgettable experience.

Because of the technical nature of the activity, participants are selected through an application process.

Application

This event has limited capacity.

Pilots and climbers must apply to participate, and six applicants who demonstrate the required experience and competence will be selected by the organizers.

Applicants must document that they meet the requirements listed below. The organizers will review all applications and select the participants who are considered best suited for the challenge.

Selected participants will receive confirmation before the event.

Requirements

- Minimum paragliding licence PP3+
- Valid Brattkort Lead certification
- Participants must have solid and documented experience with traditional lead climbing
- Participants must be comfortable moving efficiently in alpine terrain and managing both climbing and flying equipment during the ascent.

Administrative requirements
Athletes must have completed all the following steps to participate:

- Valid Extreme Pass or Volunteer pass.

This event is intended for experienced climbers and pilots with strong mountain judgement and efficient movement in technical terrain.

Participation is by application only.

The organizers will review all applications and select six participants who meet the required experience level.

Required Equipment

Participants must bring their own equipment:

- Paraglider
- Harness
- Helmet
- Full traditional climbing rack
- Climbing harness
- Climbing shoes
- Rope and belay device

All participants must bring their own trad climbing equipment.

Important

When applying, participants must confirm that they hold:

- PP3+ paragliding licence
- Brattkort Lead certification
- Extensive experience with traditional lead climbing
- The organizers reserve the right to decline applications if the required experience is not considered sufficient.
