XC - Competition (Cross Country)
Fly far, fly smart and score big during the XC Competition at Ekstremsportveko.
Each day pilots can launch from the Voss area and fly cross country according to the conditions. Choose your own strategy and route, whether you aim for open distance, out and return or triangle.
Flights must start within the Voss area and be at least 15 km to count in the competition. Pilots upload their flights to XContest and the highest scoring flight of the day wins.
Daily winners will be announced and prizes awarded the following day in the festival tent.
Level
Cross country pilots.
Required equipment
- EN or LTF certified paraglider
- GPS device for uploading tracklog to XContest
- Reserve parachute mandatory
- Engine powered paragliders and towing are not allowed.
Competition format
- Pilots may fly open distance, out and return, or triangle.
- The flight must be minimum 15 km.
- Flights must be uploaded to XContest by 20:00 each day.
- The highest scoring flight in the open class wins the daily competition.
- Prizes are awarded the following day in the festival tent.
- On the final day of the competition, flights must be uploaded by 17:00, with prize giving held the same evening.

Upload their flight to XContest
Add “XC-comp VEKO” in the XContest flight comment field
Requirements
- Minimum pilot level IPPI 4 or equivalent
- Flights must start within the Voss flying area.
Administrative requirements
Athletes must have completed all the following steps to participate:
- Valid Extreme Pass or Volunteer pass.
- Completed Athlete Registration. Not done that already? Do it here!
