Heli-day

Heli Day is one of the biggest highlights for speedflying pilots during Ekstremsportveko.

Early in the morning we load up the helicopter and head into the mountains above Voss. From there you launch directly into spectacular terrain with long alpine lines, steep faces and incredible scenery.

Expect big vertical drops and playful natural lines, perfect for fast speedflying through the mountains.

Heli Day has delivered unforgettable flights during Veko for years and remains one of the sessions many pilots travel to the festival for.

Practical information

Foot launches are possible, but skis are strongly recommended for easier takeoffs and better runs on the snow.

The helicopter will keep flying as long as conditions allow and there are enough participants.

When signing up you will be assigned the first available heli load. First come, first served.

If you want to fly with friends, make sure to sign up at the same time so you can be placed on the same load.

Heli loads will be updated manually by Veko staff. A link to the load overview will be shared closer to the event.

Requirements

Norwegian pilots

- Minimum licence SPG2 with foot launch course

Foreign pilots
- Valid speedflying or paragliding licence
- Valid third party insurance
- Experience with foot launching

Required equipment

- Standard speedflying equipment
- Skis recommended

Administrative requirements

Athletes must have completed all the following steps to participate:

- Valid Extreme Pass or Volunteer pass.
- Completed Athlete Registration. Not done that already? Do it here!
- Registered for this event (registration link at the top of the page).

Price

Entry fee: 100 NOK (paid during registration)

Helicopter lift: TBA NOK per load

A payment link will be sent to registered participants once the helicopter price is confirmed. Payment within the given deadline is required to secure your heli load.

This activity is weather dependent.

The scheduled day may change depending on conditions. Participants will be notified if changes occur.
