Sign up - Step-by-step Guide
1. Buy and hold a valid Extreme Pass, Extreme Pass Junior or apply and get approved as a volunteer.
2. Register as an athlete on the same account as you have your pass.
3. Go to your event's sign up.
4. Click the correct "package" and click "Sign up".
5. Fill out the form and click "Submit".
6. Go to cart and confirm your sign up.
7. Get your sign up confirmation on email.
8. Start training, and prepare to climb like a motherf*cker.
Competition Concept
The bouldering competition consists of two parts: an open qualification round and a final.
Climbers must combine strength, technique and smart decision-making to complete as many boulders as possible.
Qualification
- The qualification takes place outdoors at Møen, in a beautiful forest area just outside Voss.
- Athletes have four hours to climb as many as possible of the 25 selected boulders.
- The problems range from easy to demanding, offering challenges for a wide range of climbers.
Each completed boulder gives one point.
- The six best men and six best women advance to the final.
- This round is about pacing, strategy and making good decisions throughout the session.
Final
- The final brings together the six best climbers in each class for a head-to-head showdown inside the festival tent.
- Music, lights and the festival atmosphere create a unique setting for the competition.
- The audience is close to the action, making the final one of the most exciting climbing events of the week.
Final Format
- Six heats are held, with one man and one woman climbing at the same time.
- Each heat lasts four minutes, during which athletes try to collect as many points as possible across six boulders.
- The boulder styles vary between competition style, balance and power, testing the climbers’ versatility.
- All finalists receive two minutes of observation time before the start.
- This is where composure, strength and quick decisions determine the winner.
Competition Classes
- Women 16+
- Men 16+
Participants who are 16 or 17 years old can compete if they hold a valid Junior Pass.
Age and pass type will be checked before the competition.
No minimum skill level is required. Everyone is welcome.
