During Ekstremsportveko pilots can enjoy free flying from Hanguren using the Voss Gondol.

This is a great opportunity to explore the airspace above Voss and enjoy the spectacular surroundings together with pilots from around the world. Both paragliders and speedriders are welcome to fly during the open gondola hours, provided conditions are suitable and normal flying rules are respected.

Flights are launched from Hanguren and the start sites Hangur East and Hangur South, accessed via the Voss Gondol.

Rescue boat and launch coordination

A rescue boat will operate on Vangsvatnet from 08:30 to 15:00 (Sunday–Saturday).

During the same period (08:30–15:00), a start marshal will be present at launch to help coordinate safe takeoffs and maintain orderly launch operations.

While the rescue boat is operating, pilots may fly routes that require lake safety coverage.

After 15:00, there will be no rescue boat on the lake and no start marshal at launch. Pilots flying after this time do so at their own responsibility and must plan their flights accordingly.

Please note that on Saturday 20 June and Sunday 28 June, there will be no rescue boat on the lake and no start marshal at launch at any time during the day. Pilots flying on these days do so entirely at their own responsibility.

Operational updates

During Ekstremsportveko the main landing field may occasionally be closed due to competitions or other events.

Rescue boat hours and landing availability may also be updated during the event.

Pilots must check the daily information boards and briefings for updated information before flying.

Pilot responsibility

All pilots are responsible for flying within their own limits and for following local airspace rules, safety procedures and instructions from event staff.
